The forest surrounding Flevo Natuur is the largest contiguous deciduous forest in Western Europe and nearby is the beautiful Nijkerkernauw, where you can swim, sail and surf. Sustainability at Flevo Nature
Here at Naturist Camping Flevo Nature, we strive for the perfect balance between people, planet and animals. We are aware of the impact our activities have on the environment and society. Therefore, we are increasingly integrating sustainability into our processes, services and products.
But what does that mean concretely? Well, we make conscious choices and strive for harmony between people, planet and results. This is an ongoing process, not a final destination. We remain committed by:

How do we do this?
Green, Greener, Greenest
We love green in every way. Our green management contributes to vibrant biodiversity; for example, we choose to have as much greenery on the park as possible and we are careful with our trees. Thanks to trees, you can breathe now. And the air you breathe every day is purified by trees. Take a moment to think about that. We also love green energy and also buy 100% wind energy from windmills from Europe.
Car-free
Naturist camping Flevo Natuur is a car-free park, even the staff limits the use of cars where possible and has some electric carts for this purpose. This makes it nice and quiet on the park and you can enjoy the nature around you. In the central parking lot there are charging stations available for electric cars and next to the reception you will find a charging station for your electric bike.
A home for birds and insects
We have hung dozens of birdhouses and special insect hotels at Flevo Nature, a veritable paradise for our feathered and itchy friends. We do this because there are many insects that are declining in numbers, and yet nature needs these industrious workers so much.
Sustainable cleaning and energy saving
A hot shower and a clean toilet are essential, especially if you're camping at the campground. With us, comfort goes hand in hand with environmental awareness. In the sanitary facilities we use water-saving taps and shower heads. In addition, cleaning agents are biodegradable and skylights ensure optimal use of natural light during the day. We avoid unnecessary waste. The cleaning of our rental accommodations is also done with biodegradable cleaning agents. Within the accommodations we use special timer-clock thermostats that automatically switch off when no guests are present, to avoid unnecessary energy consumption. When it comes to electricity, we switch to low-energy lighting. Responsible from A to Z.

If only Naturist Camping Flevo Natuur would do responsible business then there is virtually nothing happening in the overall picture, that is why we stimulate the sustainability of society by focusing our purchasing as much as possible on responsible products from companies who, like us, want to do just a little bit more for the environment. We want to support sustainable business as much as possible, because together we are stronger.

Together with our supermarket against food waste
Our supermarket is tackling food waste with a surprise grocery package. In it you will find products whose expiration date is approaching. Time to recharge for a while
Upon arrival at Flevo Natuur, you park your car in the large parking lot. This makes it nice and quiet at the park and you will enjoy your stay to the fullest. You come to recharge! And not only you, but also your car. And electrically, because the charging stations are ready for you in the parking lot.
Recycling Station
At the back of Flevo Natuur's large parking lot you will find our recycling station. Here you can hand in garbage, paper, glass, batteries, frying fat and garden waste separately so that it can be recycled. Although we recycle a lot, we prefer to leave the separation of plastic waste to our waste processor. This is because the plastic in household waste is very diverse, so the waste processor prefers to check and separate it themselves for further processing. By performing this process itself, the waste processor can guarantee better quality when reusing the collected waste. Our waste partner also strives for maximum circularity. They focus exclusively on obtaining value from waste rather than burning or landfilling it. As much as 89% of all their waste is recycled or used for energy recovery. We believe this unique approach to waste-to-product is in line with social and regulatory developments. Together, we are doing our part to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment!
Responsible clothing choices for our employees
For our employees, we strive for high-quality clothing that is not only comfortable, but also produced under good working conditions. Therefore, we choose to work with producers who have signed a code of conduct aimed at ensuring fair and safe working conditions, In this way, we not only take care of the well-being of our employees, but also of the people involved in the production process of our garments.
Good Beginnings, Good Gestures
Our guests are invaluable to us. We strive to be accessible to everyone and are also committed to people for whom a vacation is not always a given. Therefore, every year we offer a free vacation to people who need it, so that they too can enjoy a moment.

Naturist Camping Flevo Natuur is also committed to social causes. For example, donations are made to various charities.
Zuiderzee Stray Animals Foundation
We work a lot with the Zuiderzee Stray Animal Foundation because we still sometimes have stray cats at the park. In order to give these animals a second chance at life, the Zuiderzee Stray Animals Foundation comes by to catch these stray cats and then find them a new home.
Animal ambulance middle Netherlands
Because Flevo-Nature is located in the middle of the Hulkestein Forest, we occasionally encounter injured wildlife around the park. When someone encounters an injured animal, the Animal Ambulance is alerted immediately. They then come and pick up the animal. To be able to give something back for the good service of the Animal Ambulance, we support them so that they can continue to do their job well.
EEKO-Box
Did you know that most cartridges, cell phones and tablets are reusable? That's why they don't belong in the big landfill. Together with Eeko's collection program, we make sure that empty cartridges and used cell phones and tablets get a second life. Together we care for a better environment and with the proceeds from the cartridges and cell phones handed in by you and us we support a good cause. Every so often, the reception desk chooses a new charity to empty the box. In this way we can support several causes around the park.
Food Bank Zeewolde

Reshare
Every year 135 million clothes are thrown away and burned in the Netherlands. A shame! The Salvation Army collects clothing, shoes and textiles with which we can help people who desperately need these items. They do this under the name "ReShare," "sharing again. We are also a Salvation Army collection point. You'll find the clothing cart ins our recycling station. Here you can donate your clothes, as well as other textiles and shoes.
Trees for All Foundation
For a better climate, it is important that we drastically reduce our CO2 emissions. Car trips create CO2 emissions. To get to the campsite you usually need the car. You can compensate these emissions by choosing the option: "Compensate your CO2 emissions and make your trip climate neutral" when making your reservation.
The contribution covers the offset of the indicative CO2 emissions of an average trip of 450 km and goes to certified projects of the Trees for All Foundation. Read more.
