How it all began... From a barren polder plain to green vacation park!
At the end of the 1960s Bob Stolk fantasized about a naturist terrain in the Netherlands, where everyone could enjoy naturism. In 1974 the committee N.N.T. was founded and in 1976 the location was announced: a 30 ha. large area near Nijkerk which would be provided with all conveniences. On July 1, 1978, Bob Stolk's fantasy became reality: the opening of Flevo-Nature! The opening is performed by Professor van Duin of the Rijksdienst voor de IJsselmeerpolders with the text:
"It takes a great deal of imagination to picture the future when Flevo-Nature lies here as the "Garden of Eden." But with the development of other areas in mind, I dare say that in 5 to 10 years there will be a vast forest here with a rich variety of plant and animal life, with which man must try to live in harmony."
And so it happened:
1988: Ten years of Flevo-Nature - the trees are big, everything is growing and blooming, the sauna has been expanded, an outdoor pool has been realized and more and more guests are arriving.
1994: Flevo-Nature announces expansion, some 6 acres are added.
1999: Flevo-Nature changes management and comes into the hands of company Hazeleger.
2003: Rental accommodations are placed and a new reception is built.
2006: The indoor pool is renovated, the outdoor pool is addressed and a completely new terrace at the pond is realized. The parking lot is constructed and two new camping fields are opened.
2007: Egbert Schiphorst (left over from the company Hazeleger) continues as the new owner of Flevo-Nature. Years of innovations follow!
2008: Thirty years Flevo-Nature - the outdoor bar is opened!
2010: Opening of the outdoor sauna with 2 saunas, including a opgietsauna.
2011: The indoor pool is addressed: the ceiling, floor, toilet area, new lighting and the foil on the bottom of the pool is renewed.
2013: After being away for 22 years, Natupop is again organized annually.
2015: The supermarket is renovated.
2016: The restaurant will be renovated inside.
2017: An Airtrampoline will be installed, the pond terrace will be converted into the Smokin' Kitchen terrace and the bridges to the island will be renewed.
2018: Forty years of Flevo-Nature - a celebratory year with many festive activities!
2019: The multi-sport field and Glamping accommodations will be realized.
2020: The canopy on the terrace of the catering facility is installed.
2021: New camper pitches and pitches with private sanitary facilities are realized.
2022: New house style and a brand new logo.
2023 : Opening of new Kelo Sauna and a new website with new look and quick search and book
2024: Opening of the steam cabin
