Want to fully enjoy the steam room?

After some adjustments and testing, we have optimized the steam room! Follow the tips below for an optimal experience:

  • Be sparing with water. Use the water only to hose down the benches. To rinse yourself off, you can use one of the showers.
  • Hygiene is important. Before taking your seat, hose down the couch and drain the water. There is no need to do this again upon leaving, as everyone does this upon entering.
  • Keep the benches dry. If there is a lot of water on the benches, steam production is reduced. Make sure the benches stay as dry as possible.
  • Leave the grilles open. This ensures proper air circulation and helps the steam condense.
  • Do not spray water on the temperature sensors. This can interfere with the steam process and cause the steam generator to malfunction.
  • Do not place anything on the steam unit. This can cause damage and is not allowed.
  • Check the door when you leave. Make sure the door is tightly closed to ensure an optimal steaming experience.

And above all: enjoy the wonderful, warming steam! It is good for both your body and mind.

Important notice: sauna rules

Dear sauna visitors,

A friendly reminder: it is strictly forbidden to pour your own water on the sauna heater, even without fragrances. This rule was instituted to ensure the safety of all guests and maintain the proper operation of our facilities.

Unfortunately, we have found several times that this rule has been violated. This is unfortunate, as the rules are clear.

Violation of this rule may require us to deny access to the sauna for the person involved. We count on your understanding and cooperation so that our sauna remains a safe and pleasant place for everyone.

Temporary pool closure

We would like to inform you that the indoor pool at Flevo Nature will be temporarily closed for maintenance work from January 6 through January 26. During this period you can still enjoy our saunas:

  • Kelo sauna: Monday through Thursday, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Kelo sauna, steam room and bio salt stone sauna: Friday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

January 25 and 26 fall on the weekend, so we expect there will be no more work then. We hope to reopen the pool then, provided the temperature is suitable. Keep an eye on our communications for updates, which we may share via Facebook.

Update on TV reception at Flevo Nature

Last month we performed work on our network at Flevo Natuur to improve the overall quality. During this work, some IP addresses in our system had to be changed, which affected the reception of the regional German channels.

In order to receive these channels properly again, it is necessary to completely reset the channels. You can easily do this by having the TV search for channels again. We understand that this may cause inconvenience for some guests, but we assume that everything will soon work as desired again

AED Group

Since 2022, Flevo Nature has had an active and enthusiastic AED group. This group consists of about 50 volunteers, who receive annual refresher training and can be deployed via an app call system in life-threatening situations such as CPR.

What to do in heart-related problems where CPR is desired:

  1. Call 112 via the 112NL app
Install the 112NL app so the emergency room immediately knows who you are and can pinpoint your location accurately (to within 7 meters). Put the app on your phone's home page for quick access in case of panic.
  1. BEL +31 (0)85-0138369
This number is a special emergency number of Flevo Nature, to be used only in case of life-threatening situations, such as fire or CPR. Put this number at the top of your contact list!

Flevo Nature has 5 AEDs scattered throughout the park. These devices are well maintained and their locations are indicated on the park map. If you are interested in joining the AED group, please sign up with Sabine Schijff (contact information below). Participants are required to take an annual refresher course. Flevo Nature facilitates this for 30 volunteers. The other participants must organize this themselves to ensure the required standard of quality.

AED group contact information:

  • Sabine Schijff: +31 (0)611921662
  • Rafael Schijff: +31 (0)611010051

Se-Na 55+: A cozy association for active older naturists

Se-Na 55+ is a friendly association for older naturists who still have good mobility and enjoy doing activities together. They do not have their own grounds and their members live all over the country. Together they go out, with each participant coming to the activities on their own, or traveling with others.

The association organizes monthly joint recreational activities. These can be day trips, combining, for example, a city walk or museum visit with a naturist activity on an NFN association property, a sauna visit or nude swimming.

Se-Na 55+ is open to any new activity that fits within its goals. Want to know more? Then check out their website: www.sena55.nl

Flevo's pen!

Thank you, Monique, for passing on Flevo's Pen!

I know Monique mostly from the Saturday morning walking group. The walks are a healthy and fun start to my Saturdays and I really hate it when I can't make it or oversleep. My top 3 Flevo activities also include undergoing body pumping and chilling out in the pools. You won't find me at parties very often, I like peace and quiet.

My name is Jeannette van Waardenberg. With Robert and our 'flock' we have been staying at Flevo Natuur since September 2018. Before that we had a chalet on Natukreek where we recreated for a few years with great pleasure and as often as possible.

Flock: a flock of birds, of which our white-crested cockatoo Tuttebel cozily goes outside with us. People often recognize Robert and me as "she of the cockatoo " 😉 Tuttebel almost always joins us on the Saturday morning walks and chats cozily with the other walkers.

In working life I have a nice role in ICT. Really a man's world but I hold my own just fine and have been doing this for about 30 years. Very nice is that we live in the west because my work locations are Delft and Rotterdam; this way I can avoid the traffic jams and still get to the office early.

My work is also my hobby; that's quite a pitfall at times. Fortunately, Robert regularly helps remind me of my work hours. Gardening, which is also a hobby of mine. Right now we are remodeling our garden because keeping it up started to look like work; I am sure you have seen the beech trees and boulders passing by on Facebook. Nice that we exchange a lot of stuff among ourselves for free. I like to read and play a game of klaverjas on my tablet every day (I play against 1500 people and they all get the same cards), Amsterdam style of course.

What I like about naturism is that you don't see any difference between people; everyone is equal. I love messing around in the garden naked and getting a tan all around. On vacation, Robert and I choose naturism as much as we can; going to the Canary Islands in the winter and then walking naked on endless beaches. There are limits for me; one time we were in a naturist Bed and Breakfast in England and we were obliged to be naked inside the house. Well, that went a bit too far for me, I like to decide for myself.

With Michael from the Saturday walking group, I agreed that he would get Flevo's Pen from me.

Day people, enjoy the peace, nature, all the wonderful amenities, or just the parties and events, everyone in his value, that's what it's all about!

Change in dog walking area

We would like to inform you about a change in the dog walking area around Flevo Natuur. Where previously there was a tolerated policy of the Forestry Commission allowing dogs to run loose here, this has now changed.

This decision comes after a number of incidents and complaints about nuisance caused by stray dogs. Staatsbosbeheer has therefore decided to equalize the policy around Flevo Natuur with that of the rest of the area. This ensures more clarity for visitors and peace in the area.

Do you still want to let your dog loose? Then you can do so in the official dog walking area on the other side of the Slingerweg. Keep in mind that letting dogs loose around Flevo Natuur can result in a fine, which can be up to €100

Dog beach Erkemederstrand

Is your dog also fond of water? Then the dog beach at Erkemederstrand campsite is a great place to walk and have fun together. The beach is about 5 kilometers away from Flevo Natuur. Keep in mind that you have to pay for parking.

The importance of accessibility in camping

Accessibility is essential for the safety and comfort of everyone at our campground. We would therefore ask you to consider this:

Closed locations

Some sites in the campground are secured with fences, which is understandable to keep out unauthorized persons in their absence. Nevertheless, we kindly ask that sites not be completely closed off with locked fences. This is because it may have adverse consequences in emergencies.

In case of fire or emergency situations

A few months ago there was a fire, and in such situations it is crucial that emergency services, such as the fire department, have immediate access. Not only to the location in question, but also to adjacent areas. In fact, access from multiple sides can be life-saving.

Insurance

Have you already insured your property? You can possibly arrange this through Recreation Insurances

Sinterklaas

Sunday, December 1 at 1 p.m. it was party time at Flevo Natuur: Sinterklaas and his Pieten came by again! With the Hoofdpiet, Slaappiet, Paniekpiet and Spelletjespiet it became a super fun afternoon.

Children and adults alike thoroughly enjoyed the games and unwrapping presents. The many presents made beaming faces of young and old alike.

Sinterklaas and his Pieten have let us know that they had a great time and that they would love to come back next year. We are already looking forward to it!

Personnel changes at Flevo Nature

We have some news regarding our staff!

Gert-Jan and Natasja
Gert-Jan, who joined us in September 2023, previously worked at De Meeuw campsite in Brielle. Now that there is a shortage of staff there, he has decided to return to his old workplace, together with his wife Natasja 😊. We thank them for their efforts at Flevo Natuur and wish them all the best in this new, yet familiar environment!

Maarten
Maarten was supposed to join our team in early December, but unfortunately his arrival has been delayed. As soon as there is more clarity on his start date, we will be happy to share this with you. We look forward to welcoming him soon and wish him the best of luck and fun at Flevo Natuur!

Going completely offline at Flevo Nature: The introduction of the camera sticker in 2025

Flevo Nature is all about relaxation and freedom, without worries or distractions. Therefore, in 2025 we will introduce a new measure to make your stay even more pleasant and carefree: the camera sticker.

This sticker is specially designed to ensure that you can enjoy our facilities, such as the pool, without worrying about unwanted photos or videos. In today's digital world, it is simply not realistic to ban phones completely. That's why we offer a practical and effective solution.

Upon arrival, you will receive a camera sticker that you can easily stick over your phone's camera. These stickers will be available in special dispensers at the front desk, indoor pool and outdoor pool. This will allow you to continue using your phone for music, e-books or other applications while maintaining your and others' privacy.

Together, let's create an environment where everyone feels comfortable and free.

Grateful for our first aiders

We are incredibly grateful for the team of volunteer first aiders who are always ready to help in emergencies and medical situations. Their efforts are invaluable.

To ensure that our first aiders remain available for serious situations, we kindly ask you to consider the following:

✔︎ Approach first aiders only for serious medical emergencies. For minor inconveniences, you can buy yourself a box of band-aids or a small first aid kit.

✔︎ Please call ahead to ask if a first aider is available, if it is not an emergency. The phone numbers of our first aiders can be found in the app.

✔︎ Please respect their privacy. First responders are volunteers and also deserve peace and space to enjoy their time at Flevo Nature.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

Cabin in the Laakse Slenk

Do you ever walk through the Laakse Slenk? If so, you've probably already noticed: the beautiful "Cabin" recently placed there.

Connecting people and nature
Connecting people and nature is Cabiner's mission. They believe this can be the basis for positive change. Those who experience the power of nature feel empowered and connected. Obstacles seem smaller and new ideas are given space. This is also how the idea for Cabiner was born-midst nature.

Right now, the Cabin in the Laakse Slenk is not yet bookable through Cabiner's website, but no doubt it won't be for long. However, the Cabin is already mentioned on the website, with photos, at the Horsterwold nature reserve. A floating one can also be found in the Horsterwold. The site currently lists the Horsterwold twice, while the Hulkestein Forest is not mentioned separately. We suspect this is a mistake that is still being corrected.

Are you planning to embark on this unique adventure next year? We are curious to hear about your experiences in the Cabin! It will undoubtedly be special.
