We asked all our volunteers to tell us who they are, what they do at Flevo Nature and what their hobbies are. This way you can get to know Flevo Nature's volunteers in advance.
Henk
What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I manage the AED (app) group together with Sabine and Rafael Schijf and Johan Groen.
After April 16, 2022 (CPR Wim van Riet, who died on April 19, 2022), I started working with Han Hokke to get an AED group off the ground within our park. Wryly, Han himself was the first to die despite CPR (July 19, 2022). Since then, Sabine, Rafael, Johan and I have been managing the AED group. With a cooperating Jolanda on behalf of Flevo as an indispensable factor on the sidelines.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Trying to potentially save lives of our fellow guests through CPR is a strong incentive for us. This, of course, also applies to the now plm. 50 (mostly in-house at Flevo) self-trained other volunteers.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I like to tour the Veluwe with my motorcycle.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Managing the AED App and providing recertification of members.
How long have you been doing this volunteer work at Flevo Nature?

Tell in brief what you do for volunteer work at Flevo Nature
I organize the annual AED/CPR courses in cooperation with Flevo Nature and with 3 other administrators. We conduct the monthly test the in the AED group app. We organize an annual exercise, in which we simulate a resuscitation to keep everyone sharp and test how everyone reacts to an actual resuscitation call. But above all to discover attention and points of improvement for a real situation. And we manage the group app. I make sure that people who no longer have a valid CPR certificate are removed from the group and new people who have obtained a certificate are added. This keeps the quality of the group in CPR high.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Rafael, In my free time I like to do sports, ride motorcycles and attend concerts. Sabine: In my free time I can enjoy going to the sauna and riding motorcycles. In winter I find it very relaxing to do 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles, nice with a big mug of tea.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I help with animation and swimming activities, this since about 5 years now.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Togetherness and more activities for the kids who are our future so they get a good feeling about naturism.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Currently enjoying retirement and then see what comes your way.

Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
I really enjoy Flevo nature and would like to do my part to contribute to the atmosphere and the smooth running of Flevo.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I enjoy being active with my grandchildren, I puzzle and paint. I enjoy cycling and have a great passion for my profession as a medical pedicurist.

Teaching sculpture, this now for 4 years.

Sculpting is my passion and it's nice to do it all together.

I also love to paint. And working in the garden also makes me happy.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Treasurer of the BFN, I have been appointed treasurer of the BFN since May 2022, and before that, I spent six months with the board.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
It's fun to do something with and for people that we all have an interest in.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I sing in a fantastic pop choir and practice kundalini yoga. I also like to hike and celebrate life as much as possible.

I have been coaching a Creative club for about 5 years

I really enjoy being creative myself, and being with a whole group of creative people gives great pleasure and satisfaction.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Drawing and painting, making jewelry and window hangings, reading, biking, babysitting my grandson and volunteering at a community center

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Island pool theme giving, St. Nicholas, Motorcycle ride, Sports on Sunday, Singing choir, Photographer, all this now 5 to 7 years
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
It's fun to see people's reaction to different things. The fun in sports and motorcycle riding is evident. The little ones enjoy the island and St. Nicholas. When people enjoy it I enjoy it too.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
My hobbies are Motorcycling, photography, doing odd jobs, getting naked and you wouldn't expect it sometimes bit of doing nothing

First aid, I've been doing this for a long time. How long I don't remember exactly.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Helping someone to finally enjoy the vacations at Flevo again.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Gardening, reading, hiking with my great friend Mac (dog of dear friends on Flevo). Also walking through the Silent Core and connecting with nature spiritually.

We have been doing Opgieten since September 2018.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
It's nice to see that people enjoy the infusions, I enjoy it myself. Besides my work as a web developer, this is a nice way to let off steam. I can clear my mind for a while, and besides that I enjoy being among people. Despite the effort, I get a lot of energy from this, combined with the sociability and the nice reactions of the guests makes it complete.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Casting is of course a big hobby, and besides that I like to watch Netflix, hike and photograph.

We have been organizing the Flevo Choir for about 5 years.

The fun on these mornings because singing makes you happy!
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I love to sing and perform with that on a regular basis and really enjoy being here at Flevo to relax.

First aid and AED check for needed attributes. I have been doing this for 6 months now.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Of course it is not so nice when first aid is needed, but I like it when I can assist someone and give practical help.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I love to be outside, running, biking, hiking, swimming. Baking and making desserts.

First aid + AED, this I do now from 2000 so 23 years
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
I take care of scraped knees as well as bruised arms and make sure that people get to the hospital in a timely manner when needed. In addition, I help people whose primary organs take a break. Together with others, we make sure patients get to the hospital quickly and properly.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I like to hike; I like to folk dance very much and I like to go to friends and otherwise do fun and interesting things

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I take care of infusions at Flevo Nature together with the other infusers. In addition, I always volunteer at the cabin building festival. I have been casting for about 14 to 15 years. The hut-building festival since edition 1
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Every weekend providing infusions in the infusion sauna, in addition we provide special infusion days as a group. I think the hut building party speaks for itself, just 3 days to make sure the kids have a good time.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I like to be on a road bike or mountain bike, I like to be in the mountains both in winter and summer. I enjoy gardening very much.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I am secretary of VVE Flevo Natuur, which I have been doing since April 15, 2023
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
I love coming to Flevo Nature, relaxing, enjoying the beautiful park, sauna, pool, sun and beautiful surroundings. I hope to make a small contribution to help maintain all this, so we can all enjoy it for a long time to come.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
In my spare time I like to come to Flevo and enjoy all that Flevo offers. Other hobbies, hiking, singing, reading, puzzling, diamond painting.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Removal of wasp nests
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Flevo's guests are almost always very happy when I arrive. In 2021 I removed 125 nests, in 2022 only 77.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Too many to mention, including bees, these I house in 5 hives at the edge of the ditch, Koi, very large carp-like fish in all colors and the shooting sport, this I practice in Amersfoort at a shooting club.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Previously with Henk I ordered all the necessary infusions, organized the Kids' Sessions, and now I buy the food and drinks for the many infusion days and take care of the catering for the Opgieters and their partners.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
That from the beginning until now we see many happy people because we -as sprinklers- can give them a nice sprinkling, that there are many loyal guests, and also the next generations come here.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Of course the confection, gardening, painting and restoring our garden statues, cooking and enjoying nice weather.

Organizing and arranging Flevo-theek is fun because I can get pleasure out of making other people happy.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
My hobbies include jigsaw puzzles, completing crossword puzzles and reading books.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Sauna master
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
You become "famous," giving infusions ties in nicely with my other hobbies. Soaking is also a work-out for me, I don't have to go to the gym for fitness training.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Making music, mixing music, dancing.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I am treasurer of the association
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
I have been part of the owners association at the park for several years. Together with my husband Rob and dog Pepper, I experience Flevo Nature as a unique park where it is good to be. Experiencing this, I wanted to be a supporting pillar within the association and therefore made myself available a year or two ago to hold a board position as treasurer.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I don't really have a hobby but can really indulge in hairdressing many of whom certainly know me here at the park.

The oldest member of the Opgiet team are already 18, and counting.

To give others an even more enjoyable time if possible.

Music, sauna, being the oldest member of the Opgiet team, and more.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
VvE Board Member. Co-managing the VvE Flevo nature with the main task of maintaining and having the VvE grounds maintained.

Contributing to the preservation of this beautiful and unique naturist recreation park.

Delivering packages and mail to people who want it, Cleaning the edge of the outdoor pool. And if I'm asked to do something, I'm always willing to do it.

Sauna visits and have stood behind the bar at the music society for over 40 years while I am a musical and can't keep a beat. And volunteering at Flevo

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I am a sauna master at the opgietsauna.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Every infusion is a treat to do or experience. During the infusion I try to create a unique experience, varying from a quiet, meditative infusion to a more intense infusion with lots of energy. The friendliness before and after the ceremonies, and the appreciation of the guests, ensure that I enjoy being there every time. There is a cheerful atmosphere around the infusions that cannot be found anywhere else.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Reading, sauna, relaxing, fitness and running.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
First aid roughly involves providing first aid for all minor and sometimes serious falls and accidents, which happen both at the campsite and in some people's homes.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Most of those we see at our volunteer work are panicked. We provide first aid to those, which usually means trying to calm them down again.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Chores swimming sauna and fly fishing.

Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
I really enjoy being in my field the enthusiastic group practice-oriented. Teaching and what a difficult language Dutch is !
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I work four days at an intermediate vocational school where I teach Dutch and handicrafts. Besides my work I am also a visual artist working on a commission. I love reading, horseback riding, playing bridge, swimming, sauna, visiting museums, baking, cooking, going out with a camper and sketching in nature for inspiration, making clothes and walking the dog. Because I currently work a lot I do not have much time for hobbies.

Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
I have been doing this for more than 10 years also at commercial sauna companies as a hobby. And also as a guest heater at Flevo. But I am honored to recently become an official member of the sauna team.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
Bit predictable. Sauna soaking up. And enjoying the good things in life with my lady ,

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
Recurring chore is collecting the kayaks and paddles at the end of the day. I then also check that the gear is still complete and that it has no damage that could hurt someone. Regularly I have to empty a kayak because the children turn out to be very creative in filling up the basically unsinkable kayaks. Of course I also check to make sure the beach and its surroundings are not becoming a mess. And how the flora and fauna are doing in, on and around the water.
Briefly tell us what you love about your volunteer work at Flevo Nature?
Flevo Nature is of course a unique nude place in the Netherlands and with equally unique nude people who inhabit and visit this place. With my volunteer work I hope to make a small contribution to maintain facilities and initiatives at Flevo Natuur that might not otherwise be there. And to keep the park beautiful, clean, enjoyable and safe for myself and all the other guests who come to enjoy Flevo Nature. The regular contact with the Flevo Nature staff and the other volunteers makes it extra fun in the process.
What are your hobbies or what do you like to do in your free time?
I'm still working, so actually I'm short of time. Because I also volunteer one day a week for the NFN / Blootgewoon in Amersfoort. Furthermore, I like gardening and hiking. And you can ask me a lot about electric cars.

What kind of volunteer work do you do at Flevo Nature?
I have been a permanent member of the infusion team since February. I enjoy providing a variety of infusions for all the people here at Flevo. Preparing, thinking up and working out such a drink with the other members of the team gives me a lot of pleasure.

The pleasure most people obtain during a blow-up. This gives me energy again!
