Step into Nieuw Land National Park: a magical piece of nature created by humans. Hidden within the Kotterbos lies a mystery that only the most determined explorers can unravel. During the escape route, you’ll set out to find the team that created the world’s largest man-made nature reserve. But be warned—the clock is ticking mercilessly! Only the smartest and fastest will succeed in their mission to find the entire team. If you fail, you’ll be doomed to wander this forest forever—or worse, you’ll drown—because this area would never have come into existence. In this unique escape route, you’ll search for escape boxes that can only be opened with a special key. When you complete the challenge and gather the team members, you’ll save Nieuw Land National Park from destruction. Will you complete this mission?

- - Pick up the key at the Oostvaarders Nature Experience Center. There, you’ll receive directions to the starting point.
- Come by bike or car; the starting point is 2 km away.
- Distance: 4–5 km.

On October 17, we’re turning our place into an Oktoberfest celebration. Expect an evening full of German ambiance, delicious food, big mugs of beer, and, of course, lots of fun. Put on your lederhosen or dirndl—or just come as you are—and join us for the party!

A Fun Workout for People 45 and Older. One time we’ll go for a nice jog, and another time we’ll work on our fitness together using a resistance belt, dumbbells, or resistance bands. Cost: 1.50, to be paid in cash at the activity.

On October 24, we’ll wrap up the season with an exciting and fun Halloween party. Expect an evening full of mysterious vibes, delicious snacks and drinks, and of course, a touch of spooky fun. Come in costume or just as you are, and join us for an unforgettable end to the season.

Step into Nieuw Land National Park: a magical piece of nature created by humans. Hidden within the Kotterbos lies a mystery that only the most determined explorers can unravel. During the escape route, you’ll set out to find the team that created the world’s largest man-made nature reserve. But be warned—the clock is ticking mercilessly! Only the smartest and fastest will succeed in their mission to find the entire team. If you fail, you’ll be doomed to wander this forest forever—or worse, you’ll drown—because this area would never have come into existence. In this unique escape route, you’ll search for escape boxes that can only be opened with a special key. When you complete the challenge and gather the team members, you’ll save Nieuw Land National Park from destruction. Will you complete this mission?

Tips:
- - Pick up the key at the Oostvaarders Nature Experience Center. There, you’ll receive directions to the starting point.
- Come by bike or car; the starting point is 2 km away.
- Distance: 4–5 km.
- Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
- Bring your own snacks and make sure your phone or power bank is charged.
- Dress for the weather and wear sturdy, waterproof shoes.
- Not suitable for people with physical disabilities; the route follows unpaved trails.
- Dogs are not allowed.
- Parking is free.
- The escape route can be combined with lunch at Paviljoen Oostvaarders.

Experience the fall rut of the fallow deer in the Horsterwold. In addition to horses and roe deer, fallow deer also live in this area. This beautiful and evocative species of deer has a rutting season that occurs later than that of the red deer, specifically from mid-October to mid-November. To ensure successful reproduction, the males prepare during this period to impress the females. They do this, just like the red deer, with their impressive shovel-shaped antlers. The males also make a distinctive sound: the bellow. This sounds different from the call of the red deer. Fallow deer are most active just at dusk, when it gets colder. So join the Staatsbosbeheer forest ranger in the afternoon on a trip to the Stille Kern to spot them. Upon your return, a bowl of hot soup will be waiting for you.

- - Starting point: Bingelweg parking lot on Spiekweg in Zeewolde.
- Price includes coffee, tea, and soup.
- Distance is approximately 7 km.
- Tip: Bring binoculars, a camera, and mosquito repellent.

Every week, we organize a fun and accessible salsa dance class at the recreation center.
The class is specifically for beginners and is suitable for both singles and couples. No experience is necessary, and you can join at any time. Fun and moving together are the most important things!

Every Friday evening, you’re warmly welcome to join us for a fun evening of Amsterdam-style klaverjassen. For a €1.50 entry fee, you can play for a share of the prize pool, which is distributed entirely among the winners and participants. Whether you’re a seasoned klaverjassen player or just coming for the fun of it, everyone is welcome. Pull up a chair and enjoy a lively evening of cards!

Put on old shoes or boots and walk for over an hour. It is freedom-freedom. You decide per walk whether or not you want to join us. In fact, there is always someone who will join the walk. On the day itself we can discuss where we walk to, for example, meandering through the Hulkestein forest or a round Laakse Slenk.
