Hello!

My name is Heidy van Mossel, and I started working as a receptionist at our beautiful park, Flevo Natuur, in mid-March. For over a year, I’d been thinking that it might actually be really fun to spend time in the heart of the park and be more involved in what I call “our naked-bottoms paradise.”

Wow, I was so happy when I heard I’d been hired and could start right away! When I was younger, I worked at the youth hostel in Vondelpark and at the Bulldog Hotel on Oudezijds Voorburgwal in Amsterdam. So I had a pretty good idea of what I was getting into. I say “pretty good” on purpose, because there’s obviously a lot more to do at this park than just the usual check-in and check-out procedures for guests.

And there’s more! So much more, in fact, that it’s quite a challenge. Not only the eighty different tasks and procedures, but also the six different computer programs, five different app groups, the scanner, the laminator and supersonic copier, the label printers, the tags, the key wall, the mailboxes and mail compartments… It’s quite a lot!!

But slowly but surely, I’m happily settling in, and one thing is certain: it’s never boring! Because in between all the work, there’s also really nice interaction with coworkers, regulars come and go, someone stops by to pick up medication, there’s a constant stream of packages, suppliers, visitors, and workers, flowers are delivered, we call someone about a sympathy card, and then… there’s coffee 😊

Another thing I'd like to mention is that:

• Johan is my pillar of support and my rock.
• I am the happy and proud owner of a wonderful little A-frame house, which was christened “Heidy’s Home” this year.
• I have two favorite mornings: Friday mornings with Biodanza and Sunday mornings with the Sporty Workout at Wil and Rob's.
• I also really enjoy singing with the Flevokoor and sometimes performing with them.
• I highly recommend that you try the Monday morning gym class, table tennis, or salsa dance class.

• We’re all truly privileged to be able to spend time in such a beautiful park and, in my opinion, to form a wonderful community together. ❣️

On April 2, there was a celebration at our park: Hans and Jacyntha celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary—a wonderful milestone! On behalf of Flevo Natuur, we of course offered them our heartfelt congratulations on this special anniversary. It was especially meaningful that the mayor also stopped by to celebrate this moment with them. We feel very privileged to be able to share such beautiful moments with our guests. Hans and Jacyntha, congratulations once again, and we wish you many more happy and healthy years together!

At the end of March, guests of Flevo Natuur were notified that, to their great surprise, they had won an overnight stay at the Cabiner. They’re happy to share their experience!

"Based on availability and our own schedule, we have booked a date for June 9 in the Kuinderbos. We are familiar with this area through the Grass Snake Working Group, in which we were involved. The Kuinderplas is an idyllic recreational and nature area in the heart of the Kuinderbos (Noordoostpolder, Flevoland). The area lies on the border of Friesland, Overijssel, and Flevoland and is a beautiful spot for those seeking peace and quiet, hikers, and nature lovers (source: Wikipedia).

The weather forecast wasn't great, but we set out in good spirits and well prepared.

The Cabiner concept consists of fully self-sufficient cabins located throughout the country in nature reserves and forests. So you’ll need to bring everything yourself—from a sleeping bag to a towel, food and water, hiking boots, and everything else you’ll need.

After having lunch in Lemmer (the cabin is available starting at 3:00 p.m.) and a somewhat strange search (the codes on all the cabins were the same…), we moved into our cabin overlooking the little lake.

Fortunately, the weather was on our side—no rain, just sunshine.

The cabin itself is fine—it sleeps four, has a kitchen, a shower, and a toilet (though you do have to pump up some groundwater), and a wood-burning stove that you have to stoke to get hot water for the shower and dishes.

I went ahead and lit the stove right away for some coziness and hot water. I unpacked and then took a walk along the water. Unfortunately, there was no wildlife to be seen. There were birds and dragonflies (territorial), though. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a grass snake in sight either.

After a lovely walk back to the cabin, we had a nice meal and enjoyed the peace and quiet and the surroundings.

We fell asleep to the croaking of the frogs. During the night, we were able to gaze at the starry sky for a while, since there’s hardly any light pollution there.

Early the next morning, I woke up again to the croaking of the frogs and got out of bed. First, I had some coffee, and then I went for another walk along the water.

Since the cabin had to be cleaned and ready by 11:00 a.m. at the latest, we first had breakfast and then started cleaning. Luckily, we finished quickly.

The weather was on our side, so we decided to pay a visit to the Schokland Museum. It was impressive and definitely worth a visit.

Since the clouds were now really starting to look like they were going to bring a heavy downpour, we decided to return to the tranquility of Flevo Natuur and headed home.

Hello, we are Denis and Tineke from Buizerd 6

We live in Leusden; we’re a blended family and together we have 3 children, 2 daughters-in-law (all in their 30s now), and 2 grandchildren.

Both work 3 days a week in Leusden and are at Flevo on weekends as much as possible.

We’d loved the sauna and a day at a nude beach for years. That sense of freedom, relaxation, and the feeling of being able to truly be ourselves always appealed to us immensely. Still, we weren’t yet familiar with naturist camping in the Netherlands. That changed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Looking for a place where we could find peace, space, and freedom, we ended up at Flevo Natuur. We chose an early-season spot for our travel trailer—without really knowing exactly what to expect. But it felt right from the very first moment.

In the middle of winter, we were warmly welcomed and were free to choose a nice spot at our leisure. We ended up picking a spot on the Egel, where we then camped for four years and had a wonderful time.

What immediately appealed to us was the friendly atmosphere. At Flevo Natuur, it’s easy to connect with people; a chat here, a cup of coffee there—and before you know it, wonderful friendships are formed. We’ve even made true Flevo Friends for life.

We’ve since taken things a step further and now have our own “Tiny House”—as we affectionately call it. It’s a place we’ve put a lot of work into and where we feel completely at home. Our grandchildren also feel right at home here and love coming to stay. That’s what makes it truly enjoyable.

What we really appreciate about Flevo Natuur is the combination of relaxation and a friendly atmosphere. We enjoy the fun-filled themed parties—with Natupop as the icing on the cake—the great food and drink options, and the cozy outdoor bar, where you’re always sure to meet like-minded people. But our absolute favorites are still the saunas and the pool.

In our opinion, the team of ongieters deserves special praise. They make it something special every single time! Their diverse ongieting sessions are an experience in themselves—surprising every time and performed with great passion.

And another thing that stands out: the park is very well maintained. Every year, we see improvements. Flevo Natuur is getting more and more beautiful, without losing its warm and relaxed atmosphere.

For us, Flevo Natuur has become much more than just a vacation park. It’s a place where we come home, relax, enjoy ourselves, and make memories—together, with family and friends.
